Popular Block

Block for Leaves in Winter

The third print from this block has now sold and it is time to print another one.

There will be ten in all. Each one a little different. I don't know how number four will turn out but I will certainly let you know as soon as I do.

Speaking of Digital Prints

This puppy is off to a new home. It had its portrait taken just before it left.

If you are jealous, there is no need to be. Since it is a digital print, I can make more.

And the original painting is still available too!

Wet Dogs Using the Buddy System, reproductions in two sizes

These two happy swimming pups are now available in a digital print.

There are two sizes, 11"x14" and 8"x10".

The photo above gives you an idea of the differences between them. They also show that the paper is a natural finish.

The two digital reproductions and the original painting are available on my website. Go ahead and look, I'll wait.

But before you purchase, remember that you can get free shipping if you sign up for my newsletter.

Framed and Blocked

The About Time exhibit at gallery twist is over. Sniff.

They had a few of my white-line woodcuts on display.

They borrowed the block for Veiled House. In case you didn't make the show, here is a photo of the framed print with its block.

As you may remember, this print was inspired by an on-site painting done in my driveway called Neighbor's House. If you were to go out there right now, this is what you would see - the white house shining through golden leaves.

Many Facets

Wet Dogs Using the Buddy System from the front, corners and back.

What do paintings look like in real life?

In this case, the swimming dogs are made out of oil paint applied to a stretched canvas.

The canvas is wrapped around the sides of some bars of wood and stapled on the back. The blue water extends around the sides, giving you the choice to frame it or not.

They don't always looks like this. I will show you more paintings from different angles soon.

One day, we took a train to the top of die Zugspitze - the highest peak in Germany. This is one of the many unbelievable views of the Alps from up there.

There was also beer and sausage, so it was a pretty nice day!

River Views

We drove along the Rhine quite a bit during our stay in Germany. Wonderful views everywhere we looked. The river was very low due to a drought, but it was still lovely.

In Germany

This is a photo from inside the courtyard of Burg Eltz - the castle you saw here a few weeks ago. This place is impressive inside and out!

Before Germany...

painting trees in the marsh, oil on gessoed board, 10" x 8"

Just before we left for Germany, the dogs and I went to York to paint on a beautiful day. There was a lovely marsh behind me, but I painted trees. I don't remember why. I do remember that it was quite hot and I wanted to stay in the shade.

The dogs helped by shaking on me after swimming. Thanks guys.

Late Spray

oil on canvas, 6"x6"

I think this painting is still available. I will have to check. It is a studio piece from a plein air painting done on Monhegan Island near sunset.

Path of the Water

white-line woodcut print

Another classic. This actual print has sold, but I have the block and I could print more.

Even though I have been back from Germany for over a week, I still can't paint or print for a bit because I had a planned surgery. I am fine, just restricted for a few weeks.

Until I am back to new things, enjoy some oldies!

Brilliant Fall

oil on canvas, sold

When I left for Germany, it was summer, but now it is clearly autumn. Our leaves are golden and red already.

That's ok, I love fall. This plein air painting is from 2012. It is from someone's farm in the middle of NH. I don't remember the name of the town. Could be a lot of places around here - pretty classic New England.
